CEHL Managing Director Liz Thomas recently visited Shepparton and met with Federal Member for Nicholls, Sam Birrell and Kim O’Keeffe MP, State Member for Shepparton, to discuss the co-op housing model and opportunities for viable housing growth and expansion in the region.
Shepparton is home to three CEHL housing co-operatives that manage more than 50 homes. Liz also met with co-op Directors to hear firsthand what they want for the future of rental housing co-ops in Shepparton. The information will help CEHL prepare for future state and federal government funding rounds that offer opportunities to increase the supply of affordable co-op housing.
CEHL will continue supporting regional co-ops and advocating for co-operative housing as a viable, affordable housing option in regional areas.
