Housing Cooperatives Worldwide

Housing cooperatives exist on all continents in many different formats. Some housing coops are resident-owned while others are rented.

The strength of the co-operative housing model lies in its versatility. It empowers members to manage their communities and homes in a way that best suit their needs. With a diverse range of co-op models both in Australia and globally, there is much to learn and adapt.

Earlier this year, a Business Council of Co-operatives and Mutuals (BCCM) tour brought together a group, including MD Liz Thomas, to explore how international housing co-operatives operate. This experience inspired us to bring fresh ideas to our existing housing model, enhancing the way we serve our community.
