It is great to see the final steps in delivery of housing in Grovedale, delivered by Common Equity Housing Ltd. in partnership with Homes Victoria, as part of the $5.3 billion Big Housing Build.
CEHL works with over 90 housing co-operatives across Victoria. As registered businesses, each co-op represents communities of people who unite voluntarily to achieve their need for long-term, secure housing solutions. Our new properties are offered for allocation to our co-ops. These six Geelong properties have been allocated to the local co-op Larrakeyah CERC. This will bring the co-op to 19 properties, making it one of the largest co-ops in Geelong and support this co-op with new members and skills, and the broader financial viability of the co-op.
The induction of 6 new members was an emotional experience for both the new members and directors of Larrakeyah. Both members and directors invested significant time and energy into the recruitment process to ensure the right fit for the co-op. Directors volunteer their time to manage the co-operative, and to have opportunities like this where they get to see the benefits of their time and the impact it has on their community is both rewarding and well deserved.
Welcome to the new members of Larrakeyah.
