At the Australian Co-operative Housing Alliance (ACHA) 2024 Co-operative Housing Summit a new report was launched.

At the Australian Co-operative Housing Alliance (ACHA) 2024 Co-operative Housing Summit, Business Council of Co-operatives and Mutuals (BCCM) launched the report “What Australia Can Learn from European Affordable Co-operative Rental Housing Models,” which captures insights from the 2024 European Co-op Housing Study Tour.

🔑 Key findings:

  • Co-ops represent 20% of housing in Copenhagen vs. just 0.05% in Australia.
  • Improved funding could increase co-op housing to 10% of community housing here.
  • Advocacy for reinstating mandated co-op housing funding is crucial.

Common Equity Housing Limited (CEHL) is proud to have produced this report, thanks to the expertise of lead researcher Dr Sidsel Grimstad from the The Good Shift.
