Is the rental market fit for purpose?

With more than 30% of households across Australia renting their homes and the National rental vacancy rate sitting at 1.3%, the rental market has become a hot button political issue.

NSW Rental Commissioner, Trina Jones posed that question earlier today when talking on ABC News RN Breakfast. Once seen as a stepping stone to owning your own home, today’s rental market is in a state of crisis. One third of Australians live in a rental property and many will be forever renters, how do we ensure that the rental market is fit for purpose?
